Convincing Production Company

Hey blogger readers! Welcome to my 14th blogger entry post. Today I will explain how I would convince the desired production companies that my final project's short film is worth producing and sell my movie and make back everyone's money.

Film pitches are not an easy-going task and or process, especially to large and well-known companies.

Film pitches include...

  •  Film title
  • A basic synopsis of the film
  • Reasoning as to why you think the production company should invest in the film
  • Films similar to yours
  • The 'brand' of your movie and how it would support the production company
  • Can the production company secure the essential resources for your film
  •  Your ideal budget required for the film
  • Plans to pursue the distribution for your film
  • And why your offer is attractive compared to other film pitches

I would convince my desired production companies by explicating the storyline/plot of 'Beware of the 20'.

Beware of the 20 is a horror and comedy spoof movie that will explore and display the vital events of the year 2020 overall. Significant events will divide into horror or comedy. For instance, events such as the political debate, the global pandemic, and movements for racial injustice will significantly impact this final project's short film opening.

My short film opening is worth producing because nearly everyone can relate to the storyline and has technically experienced it themselves. Additionally, the film wouldn't target one specific audience because all ages have experienced what the film opening bases on (the horrific and unexpected year of 2020). Therefore with the film attracting more than one audience, more revenue and views come in, which leads to more profit.

With the open ranging of the audience already attracting profit, horror movies are already statistically proven to have higher marketing interests. Additionally, the low budgeted film has proven to surprise companies and become a hit. The most famous horror film success stories concerning micro-budgeted movies made huge profits. For instance, the horror film 'The Blair Witch Project' included a budget for $60,000 and grossed nearly $250 million worldwide.

If my movie received high marketing and revenue, most of the profit would return to the production company, making the pitch a win-win circumstance.
