Additional Sounds

Hello blogger entry readers! Welcome to the 39th blogger entry post for my final project film opening! Today I will discuss the classes of sounds I need to add and how I will do so.

As stated in previous blogger entries (SOUND AND AUDITORY ELEMENTS, DECISIONS ON SOUND, SOUND EFFECTS, AND LIGHTING), the film opening will essentially include dialogue. However, it will still have sound and music. For sound, most sounds will be diegetic and apparent to the audience, but there will be a layout of non-diegetic sound throughout the film opening.

For instance, Leea and I agreed to rewrite the script and change the debate scene to something more fitting to the genre. This scene includes one of the characters being chased outside. To add realism to the scene, we will add the diegetic sound of rapid footsteps.

My group and I were anxious because we didn't think our film opening would obtain enough horror conventions, but Leea thought of an idea. She suggested we add voice-over narration to the film opening. The voice-over narration would tie together the storyline and simplify the film opening for its viewers.

Since Gianfranco couldn't contribute much to the group during stage four of production, Jadha, Leea, and I agreed that it would be best for Franco to do the voice-over narration. I also suggested that the group deepen franco's voice for an unsettling and mind-twisting influence towards our opening's audience. Per contra, we didn't end up using voice over narration.

The group and I wanted to deepen Franco's voice with editing software my sister permitted us to utilize called Pro Tools. We previously used ProTools to record Leea's scene throughout last weekend in our recording session. Pro Tools is the digital music software that can edit, overlay, record, and mix audio recordings or files.
